How to move a test result that has been saved to the wrong Motor ID.
For example: If Motor ID: Motor1 has test result 1/2/03 that really belongs to Motor ID: Motor2 in “XYZ Database.mdb” Here are the steps to move the test result 1/2/03 to Motor2 from Motor1.
Using the AWA 4.x.x software
- Create a new database called “Temp.mdb”
- Open database “XYZ Database.mdb”
- Click on the Data Transfer (Database – Data Transfer menu item)
Source - XYZ Database.mdb
Destination – Temp.mdb
- Transfer only the Motor ID: Motor1 to the Temp database.
- Close Data Transfer
- Open the Temp.mdb
- Select Motor ID: Motor1
- Click on the Application Tab
- Delete all Test Results except for the test result that you want to move. For example leave test result 1/2/03 and delete all others.
- Click on the Nameplate Tab, and change the Motor ID from Motor1 (the wrong Motor ID) to Motor2 (the correct Motor ID). Update the record.
- Click on the Data Transfer (Database – Data Transfer menu item)
Source - Temp.mdb
Destination – XYZ Database.mdb
- Transfer the Motor ID: Motor2 in the Temp.mdb database to the Motor2 of the XYZ Database.mdb. The Data Transfer will update the existing Motor2 with the new record.
- Close the Data Transfer
- Open the XYZ Database.mdb
- Select Motor ID: Motor1
- Click on the Application Tab and select the test result that does not belong to this Motor ID, example 1/2/03 and delete the test result from Motor1, since it now exists on Motor2 where it belongs.
